Description:
Ketoprofen is a nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drug (NSAID) with potent anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic activity. Classical evaluation tests demonstrate that the antiinflammatory activity ketoprofen is far superior to aspirin and phenylbutazone. Ketoprofen not produce any known side effects of corticosteroids.
Unlike other NSAIDs, KETOFEN ® protects articular cartilages and not acting on chondrocytes. Intramuscularly reaches its maximum concentration in 6 minutes, acts on cellular and vascular phases of inflammation.

Indications:
Treatment of inflammatory and painful states of osteoarticular and musculoskeletal systems in dogs and cats, in particular: arthrosis, trauma, dislocations, sprains, herniated discs, arthritis and edema.

1 mg of active ingredient per kg / day, ie tablet KETOFEN ® 5 mg per 5 kg live weight or tablet KETOFEN ® 20 mg per 20 kg body weight, preferably during a meal, for 3 to 5 consecutive days.
reduced dose:
KETOFEN ® tablets can be administered in chronic conditions (chronic osteoarthritis) to 1/4 of the daily dose 0.25 mg / kg daily for 30 days to reduce inflammation and pain. After evaluation by the veterinarian, the recommended dose can be continued for up to 90 days.
injection:
KETOFEN ® injection is administered 1% to 2 mg / kg per day (0.2 ml / kg / day). After the first injection at the clinic, treatment can be continued orally from the next day.

Do not combine with other nonsteroidal anti - inflammatory or diuretics or anticoagulants. Do not use in pregnant animals. Do not administer if there gastroduodenal ulcers, hemorrhagic syndromes, severe renal failure or known allergy to ketoprofen. In rare cases manifestations of gastrointestinal intolerance (vomiting) that quickly give way to the end of treatment are observed. It is recommended to administer KETOFEN ® with meals.
